If we as therapists want to learn to work with sexual themes, then we need to develop the courage and willingness to explore our own vulnerabilities around sexuality.
This may involve facing our own sexual wounds and becoming aware of our own polarized values and beliefs around sexuality.

- Techniques for discussing sexuality in couples therapy
- How sexual abuse and sexual wounds influence individual sexuality and that within the relationship
- Understanding circumstances that affect clients' willingness and ability to talk about sexual themes
- Exploring developmental themes around sexuality
- Dealing with erotic transference and countertransference that may arise in therapeutic relationships
- Recognizing parts that inhibit and accelerate the sexual process
- Practicing specific interventions in guiding couples in communication about sex, both in sessions and at home
